14 Canned Items That You Should Stock Up On Now
If you thought that prices at the grocery have been getting worse the past 5 years, you haven't been imagining it. CBS News recently shared a report about how much more we are paying for groceries today than in 2019, just prior to the pandemic hitting. Here are a few items that you've probably been shocked by:
- Eggs - this category has seen a 303% price increase in that short span between 2019 and 2025.
- Frozen orange juice, while not as high as eggs, the price to end consumers in this category has increased by 83%.
While I'd love to have high hopes that we have hit the peak with inflation at the grocery store, my economics-loving brain is preparing for impact based on a few reports that I just read.

Grand View Research shared that about 98% of Americans have canned goods stocked in their pantry. Most of us go through about 24 canned goods in a week. If that is you, according to The Daily Meal, you may want to head to the store right now and stock up on a few of our favorite canned items before prices go even higher.
