Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester City Council will attempt to resolve key questions concerning a major road project during the council’s study session on Monday.

City staff is seeking direction from the council how best to address a $1.2 million funding shortfall for the North Broadway reconstruction project due to reduced revenues from special assessments on the properties along the busy and bumpy roadway. The overall cost of the project as it is currently designed is about $19.2 million.

If the council wishes to proceed with the project next year it will need to pull the needed $1.2 million from funds allocated for future projects. Other options could modestly lower the overall cost but would delay the Broadway reconstruction project until 2021.
