Rochester Drug Dealer Headed Back to Prison

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man, who was caught dealing drugs after dropped out of a “boot camp” style program for drug offenders and became a fugitive last year, is headed back to prison.

An Olmsted County judge today sentenced 33-year-old Angel Castellanos to 8 years in prison for his conviction on three felony drug charges. A fourth charge was dropped through a plea agreement that was finalized in February.

At the time of his arrest last October, Castellanos had been living in a mobile home in Rochester for several months even though he was wanted on a fugitive warrant. It was issued by the Minnesota Department of Corrections after he skipped out on the special program that allowed him to live in a halfway house while looking for work. He was allowed to enroll in the program last year after he was given a 7-year prison sentence for a previous drug conviction.
