Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - It looked like a scene from the 1970’s when gas shortages were common around the country Thursday at a Rochester convenience store.

The Kwik Trip store near Costco was jammed with customers all afternoon as they were taking advantage of the sudden and huge drop in gas prices. The store was selling regular for $1.94, matching Costco’s price. Most other stations in the city were selling regular for $2.24 - and still were at last check.

According to Minnesotagasprices.com as of 9.a.m. Friday, Rochester still had the lowest prices in the state by far, with regular selling for nearly 30 cents below the statewide average.
