Rochester, MN  (KROC-AM News) - A high-speed chase in Northwest Rochester last night led to the arrest of the 24-year-old Rochester man.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Scott Behrns says the pursuit began around 11:15 p.m. after a deputy traveling north on Highway 52 spotted a vehicle quickly approaching from behind him and using a rear-facing radar gun clocked the other vehicle at almost 90 miles per hour. After the speeding vehicle exited onto 37th Street Northwest, the deputy attempted a traffic stop and the motorist sped away.

The pursuit followed 37th Street to East River Road and then North Broadway to Silver Lake Park, where the law officers involved broke off the pursuit when the motorist left the roadway and drove across portions of the park. Prior to that, a Rochester Police Officer was able to get close enough to get a good view of the driver, who was later found walking in a nearby neighborhood.
