Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester man is expected to face a felony assault charge for cutting his former roommate with a knife and threatening him with a hammer.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon at the suspect's residence in the 400 block of 8th Ave NW.

Police say 42-year-old Frank Towers had kicked the victim out earlier and the man returned to get some of his property. Police say when the other man broke a window, Towers threw a knife and it cut one of the victim’s hands. When the victim entered the residence, Towers chased him out with a hammer. The victim fled on foot.

A witness called 911 to report the incident and officers followed a trail of blood to a nearby business where they found the victim. The man’s injury was not believed to be serious but he was taken to St. Marys Hospital to be treated.

Towers was arrested without incident.
