Rochester Man Charged in Death of Dog Pleads Guilty
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man who was charged in connection with a domestic incident this past summer involving a dead dog has pleaded guilty.
Court records indicate 32-year-old Octavio Nique admitted to all four charges in the case, including second-degree burglary and a felony count involving animal cruelty. He was arrested after Rochester police were sent to a home in northwest Rochester on the morning of July 7th to investigate after a neighbor noticed the front door to the house was open. The responding officers spotted the pit bull mix floating in the four-foot deep above ground swimming pool on the property. There was also extensive damage found inside the home.
The arrest report says Nique was identified by the person living in the home as the likely suspect. He is scheduled to be sentenced in late January.
