Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was charged Thursday with physically and sexually assaulting a woman in late December.

Arraigned on 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct and felony assault charges was 41-year-old James Bailey. His bail was set at $50,000.

The criminal complaint says the woman reported the alleged incident in early January, several days after she said it happened.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman told an investigator Bailey “has been assaulting her on a regular basis since summer of 2019.” She said, “Bailey has broken her nose and given her at least two black eyes.”

During the police interview, the investigator “observed many significant bruises all up and down Victim’s arms.”

The woman told the investigator the sexual assault took place in a vehicle after she blacked out during the assault.
