Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 20-year-old Rochester man has been convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving the repeated sexual abuse of young children that occurred when he was a teenager.

Mohamed Shei today entered Alford pleas to two counts of the charge. The Alford plea means he does not admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence to convict him of the charges

The allegations of sexual abuse involving two children were originally filed against Shei in juvenile court last year but he was certified for prosecution as an adult last month. According to the criminal complaints, the victim told investigators she was four or five years old when Shei allegedly began sexually assaulting her when he would visit a friend at a neighboring house.

The court document indicates the other victim told a Rochester police investigator she was 8 years old when Shei began assaulting her in May 2018 while she was visiting a friend. She estimated "that it happened eight or more times in about a year." The child also stated that Shei told her it would ruin his life if she told anyone.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on January 30th.
