Rochester Man Dies in 55th St Wreck

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – A Rochester man died in a traffic wreck on 55th St Monday.

A Rochester Police spokesman says a van driven by 52-year-old Jerome Wickert crossed the median and collided head-on with an SUV. Wickert died at the scene.

The other vehicle was driven by 60-year-old Chai Veerasaeng. He and his wife Chome were in the ICU as of Monday evening.

The wreck happened just before 6:00 PM near the 55th St./26th Ave NW intersection.

The police spokesman says Wickert may have suffered a medical problem before the crash.
