Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A cyber tip received in August of 2021 led to the filing of child pornography possession charges against a Rochester man Friday.

The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office says 65-year-old George Giles had content showing juvenile females involved in sexual acts stored on a hard drive. The hard drive was seized along with other devices following a search of his residence.

The criminal complaint says the Rochester Police Department received the tip from Google regarding regarding child sexual abuse material on August 23, 2021. Investigators then searched Giles home on October 5, 2021 where they located a computer tower that had the material described in the Google tip.

The charges say law enforcement found an estimated 150 images of suspected child sexual abuse material on the hard drive, including images of a girl as young as 10 engaging in sexual conduct. 

Giles has been charged with three felony counts of storing pornographic work Computer Disk/Electronic/Magnetic/Optical Image w/Porn. He’s due to make his first court appearance in January.
