Rochester Man Fatally Injured in Fall From Cliff
Silver Bay, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was killed last night when he fell off a cliff in northern Minnesota.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office says deputies and emergency personnel responded to a site along the Caribou River around 9:30 p.m. after receiving a report that a 29-year-old Rochester man had fallen into the river. A news release says Daniel Allman had been hiking with a friend when he fell approximately 100 feet from a cliff and landed in the water below.
The Sheriff's Office says Allman was removed from the water by his friend, who attempted life-saving first-aid until emergency crews arrived at the scene. Allman was then pronounced dead at the scene. The Caribou River flows into Lake Superior about 15 miles north of Silver Bay near Tettegouche State Park.
