Rochester Man Jailed Following Injury Crash Near Apache Mall
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities arrested a Rochester man following a two-vehicle crash that injured three people near the Apache Mall Wednesday afternoon.
The State Patrol says troopers responded to the wreck shortly after 2 p.m. The crash occurred near the Hwy. 52/Hwy. 14 East interchange.
The state crash report says a westbound pickup, driven by 66-year-old Neal Krieppmer, and an eastbound sedan, operated by 68-year-old Daniel Weise of Le Claire, IA, collided in the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 14.
Krieppmer, Weise and a passenger in Wiese’s vehicle, identified as 67-year-old Cynthia Edwards of Indianola, IA, suffered what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Edwards was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for further treatment while Wiese and Krieppmer were treated at the scene of the crash. Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate he was booked into jail on suspicion of criminal vehicular operation shortly before 3:45 p.m.
The road was dry and all three people involved in the crash were buckled up, the report says. The Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the crash.
