Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man is facing a long list of charges after leading officers on a six-mile chase through the city Wednesday night.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jim Schueller says a patrol deputy spotted a suspicious car in the parking lot of a business along Highway 14 near Chester Woods Park around 9:00 PM. The deputy made a traffic stop and suspected the driver was under the influence of drugs. Schueller says the deputy ordered the man to get out of his vehicle but he drove off and the chase was on.

The man headed west on Highway 14 and drove through Rochester with numerous officers becoming involved in the chase. The man ended up getting stuck in the back yard of a residence in the 400 block of 22nd Ave SW.

Schueller says the man fought with officers and injured one deputy before he was subdued.

Arrested was 42-year-old Jeremy Kirkham. Officers also learned he was wanted on a warrant for failing to pay child support.

Schueller says he is a known methamphetamine user.
