Rochester Man Robbed While Helping Friend Move
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police say a man helping a friend move into a residence was robbed early today. Police Captain John Sherwin says the 32-year-old Rochester man reported the incident occurred around 2 in the morning when he went back outside to grab some of the last items from a truck at the apartment in the 700 block of 1st Avenue Southwest.
He encountered a woman smoking a cigarette near the door to the apartment and she ordered him to hand over his money after she placed her hand in her purse and implied she was holding a weapon. The victim says he handed over about $250 in cash from his wallet before the woman got into the passenger seat of a black SUV and left the scene.
The female robber was described as black, about 5 foot 10, 170 pounds, with straight shoulder length black hair, wearing a dark jacket, black spandex pants and carrying a gray purse. She is missing a tooth. Police say a witness reported the vehicle she drove away in was a smaller SUV with oversized 20-inch rims.
