Case Connected to Previous Brown County Conviction

According to court documents, Lovelady was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for a similar crime involving a different victim in Brown County two years ago. In that case, he was given a stayed prison sentence and an opportunity to have the felony conviction converted to a misdemeanor if he successfully completed his probation.

Investigators Find Evidence on Seized Cellphone

His new convictions in Olmsted County were connected to the Brown County case. The criminal complaint says the sexual relationship with the juvenile girl was discovered when investigators found evidence on his phone after it was seized by New Ulm Police.
