Rochester Man Sentenced For Child Porn Conviction
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to five years on probation in a child pornography case.
60-year-old Morgan Young was recently sentenced for his conviction on a charge of possession of child pornography. Court records show he entered a guilty plea to the charge back in July.
The charge stemmed from an investigation launched in January after the Rochester Police Department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. It listed the upload of suspected child sexual abuse material from Young's northwest Rochester residence.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence, and according to the criminal complaint, "observed a plethora of image/video files containing child sexual abuse material." The court document also states the child pornography depicted children ranging from infancy to approximately 8 years of age engaging in various sexual acts.
In addition to probation, Young’s sentencing order includes a $250 fine and requires him to register as a predatory offender.
