Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - One of the men accused of being involved in a shooting last year that left the victim paralyzed was sentenced today in Olmsted County District Court.

27-year-old Iman Iman was given a prison sentence of just over 12 years for his conviction on a first-degree assault charge. He pleaded guilty to the charge in October through a plea agreement that resulted in the dismissal of four other felony charges that included two counts of attempted murder.

Iman was accused of being involved in assaulting and shooting a man in a hallway at the Meadow Park Apartments on August 7, 2019. Court records indicated a witness saw him standing over the victim with a gun just before the shooting.

He was also given a concurrent five-year prison sentence for his conviction stemming from a drive-by shooting in April of last year during which a man was shot in the leg. In that case, he admitted to a felony charge involving threats of violence and a weapons-related charge.

A second man charged in the Meadow Park Apartments shooting still faces attempted murder and other charges. 28-year-old Abdirahman Abdullahi remains jailed on $1 million conditional bail. His next court hearing has yet to be scheduled.
