Rochester Man Sentenced To Prison For Causing Death Of Newborn
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man accused of causing the death of a newborn has been sentenced to 94 months in prison.
Sentenced Wednesday was 23-year-old Chaz Moore.
He was convicted of manslaughter and assault charges in March.
Moore was accused of causing his ex-girlfriend to undergo an emergency C-section after she said he pushed her hard onto a bed during a confrontation in 2017.
Police say the woman sustained a 95-percent tear of her placenta and the baby eventually suffered from a loss of oxygen and later died. The woman was 26 weeks pregnant.
Moore was the father of the baby.
