Rochester Mayor Honors 13 with 2024 Medal of Honor Awards
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - In an annual tradition that was started in the 1980s by the late Chuck Hazama, Rochester Mayor Kim Norton hosted a luncheon to honor the 2024 recipients of the Mayor's Medal of Honor.
This is the 41st year of the recognition event. It honors numerous local citizens for their significant contributions to the Rochester area community in a wide range of categories, including heroism, education, community service, artistic and cultural achievement, human services, industry, and youth services.
A total of 13 people were presented with the Mayor's Medal of honor this year. The annual Mayor's Award went to Dean Stenejem, the former Director of the Rochester YMCA.
