Rochester Police Identify Shooting Suspect
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Police have identified a suspect for the shooting Wednesday that left a 24-year-old man in critical condition.
An arrest warrant issued for 26-year-old Iman Iman says he was captured on a security camera video running out of a building at Meadow Park Apartments with a gun in his hand. Court documents indicate the shooting victim, who remains in critical condition at St. Marys Hospital, suffered gunshot wounds to the back of his head, his chest, and one of his legs.
The arrest warrant charges Iman with second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, and a weapons-related offense. Police Captain Casey Moilanen says additional suspects are also being sought. Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact the police department or leave a tip at CrimeStoppers.
Iman is also facing attempted murder and other charges in connection with a drive-by shooting in Rochester in late April that left two men with gunshot wounds on their legs. He was released from the Olmsted County Jail after he posted $500,000 bail. Iman's brother, Ayub Iman, is charged with the execution-style murder of a Rochester man along a rural southeast Rochester road in early March. The two brothers are also charged with being involved in a disturbance at Rochester convenience store in early April during which a witness reported a man being chased by the pair was referred to as a "snitch" in reference to a recent murder.
