Rochester Police Recover Car Half Hour After it Was Stolen
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - It didn’t take long for Rochester Police to recover a car that was reported stolen early this morning.
Police Captain Casey Moilanen says the 57-year-old man who reported the vehicle stolen indicated he had left the car in the parking lot at his workplace in the 700 block of First Avenue Southeast when he reported for work at around 2 AM. He admitted to leaving his keys in the vehicle and said he called police around 2:50 AM when he noticed it was missing.
About a half-hour later, a police officer on patrol spotted the stolen car heading west on Elton Hills Drive near the intersection with North Broadway. The officer caught up with the vehicle near the intersection with West River Road and the driver eventually pulled over and stopped along 37th Street Northwest. 29-year-old Yol Chadack was taken into custody on suspicion of vehicle theft and driving with a revoked license.
