Update: Rochester School Worker Charged in Child Pornography Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man detained at the Olmsted County Jail in connection with a child pornography investigation has been identified as an employee of the Rochester School District.
Rochester Public Schools Employee Target of Child Porn Investigation
The Olmsted County Adult Detention Center website indicates that 41-year-old Jim Vin is being held on suspicion of a felony count of Use of Minor in Sexual Performance/Pornographic Work. The Rochester Police Department has stated that Vin became the target of an investigation based on an Internet Crimes Against Children tip.
Formal charges in the case are still pending, but a Police Department spokesperson says Vin is expected to be arraigned in Olmsted County court on Monday.

Employed as Educational Support Professional
Rochester Public Schools has issued a statement confirming that an individual employed as an Educational Support Professional was arrested for possession of child sexual abuse material. The employee had worked at three schools within the district. The statement says his access to district facilities and technology has been revoked.

School District Launches Internal Investigation
The school district stated that it is fully cooperating with the law enforcement investigation and has launched an internal investigation. The statement also indicates that the accused employee did not have any formal complaints in his employment record involving inappropriate sexual behavior toward students or staff.
