Rochester Teenager Pleads Guilty to Recent Zumbrota Robbery Case
Red Wing, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester teenager has pleaded guilty to being involved in a recent shooting and attempted robbery in Zumbrota.
The incident happened in December when witnesses say several people showed up at a man’s house and some of them tried to steal his marijuana.
During a struggle, the man suffered a gunshot wound to his arm. Police were given different accounts of what happened. Some indicate the shooting was accidental.
A total of three teenagers and a 20-year-old man were eventually charged.
One of the suspects was 17-year-old Dantel Ruth. He pleaded guilty Wednesday to a simple robbery charge in juvenile court and will be sentenced at a later date. Ruth had been held in a secure juvenile detention facility after his arrest but has since been allowed to live with his father. He is under an electronic home monitoring order.
The cases against the other suspects are pending.
