Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester City Council is seeking state funding for four projects.

The council Monday approved a list that it hopes will be included in next year’s state bonding package.

The four projects seek just over $18-million in state funding. Half of the amount would help pay for runway safety improvements at the city airport.

The city is asking for $5-million to help pay for major improvements to Silver Lake, including the removal of its dam.

Funding is also being sought for the ongoing Cascade Lake project ($2.75m) and to help cover the cost of extending the city’s trail system to Gamehaven Regional Park and the future extension of the Bluestem Trail to Stewartville ($1.5m).
