Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester woman was severely injured in a crash this morning that resulted in the closure of a stretch of Highway 63 north of the city.

The State Patrol says 73-year-old Beverly Amlaner was a passenger in a car that collided with a semi-truck at the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 247 just before 9:30 AM. She was transported to St. Marys Hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries.

72-year-old Charles Amlaner was driving the car. The State Patrol says he, and the driver of the truck, were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was identified as 39-year-old Mohamed Mukhtar Abdi of Minneapolis.

The preliminary crash report indicates the passenger car was traveling north on Highway 63, while the semi-truck was headed east on Olmsted County Road 12, which becomes Highway 247 east of Highway 63. The semi-truck ended up in the south ditch of Highway 247.

The crash prompted authorities to detour traffic off of Highway 63 between Olmsted County Road 21 and Highway 247. The road closure remained in effect into the early afternoon.
