Rochester Woman Sent to Prison for Deadly OD Case
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – A Rochester woman has pleaded guilty to murder in the heroin overdose death of a man earlier this year.
Pleading guilty to a 3rd-degree murder charge Thursday was 53-year-old Michelle Williams.
She was sentenced to nearly 9 years (104 months) in prison.
Williams admitted selling heroin to 32-year-old Matthew Klaus, who was found dead the next day. His autopsy listed the cause of death as “acute heroin and fentanyl toxicity. “
The criminal complaint said police were using Klaus as an informant to buy heroin from Williams. When interviewed after his death, Williams told police she had sold Klaus heroin “about 100 times. “ Police say her admission came before she was told he had died.
Williams was described as a long-time drug dealer in Rochester.
