Rochester Woman Sentenced For Assaulting Police Officer
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester woman has been sentenced to probation for attacking a police officer last summer.
Bonnie Booth was arrested last August after she was accused of punching an officer in the face and biting down on one of his hands hard enough to draw blood. The police report on the incident indicated the officer had gone to the city's South Walmart location to take possession of some stolen property and went to assist the store’s security staff when he saw them struggling to detain the woman, who was suspected of shoplifting.
Booth, who celebrated her 29th birthday on Sunday, entered a guilty plea Monday to a gross misdemeanor count of fourth-degree assault. Two other misdemeanor charges stemming from the same incident were dismissed.
