It was a busy day of transactions for the Minnesota Vikings, and one of them was bringing back Rochester native Marcus Sherels.

According to the team, Sherels rejoins the team after placing defensive back Mike Hughes on the IR. Hughes, who was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, but listed with a neck injury, was limited in Thursday's practice and then placed on IR on Friday.

The Minnesota Vikings will also be without Mackensie Alexander in their playoff matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

Sherels started the season with the Saints, but never played a game for them and was eventually released. Sherels has spent time with the Vikings and Dolphins in the 2019 season and is now back with the Vikings after the Dolphins waived Sherles in December.

Sherels is expected to be the Vikings punt returner for Sunday's game against the Saints.
