Rochester’s Nashville Coop Hot Chicken Restaurant is Closing

This morning I saw a post on the Spotted in Rochester Facebook page that said, "Heard that Nashville coop is closing down at the end of the month. Go support this business and let them know we don’t want them to close!" After seeing that, I reached out for confirmation and spoke with Nick from Nashville Coop.

Nashville Coop Hot Chicken is closing. The spicy chicken restaurant opened in Rochester in March of 2022 with a simple menu of chicken strips, sandwiches, and sides. Read the restaurant's statement below.

Nick told me that the restaurant was indeed closing, blaming the location and unexpected costs.

He thanked the "foodie" community in Rochester and encouraged everyone to continue to support small businesses.

When Will Nashville Coop Hot Chicken Close?

The restaurant just released this statement on their Facebook:

"Let us begin by stating that our food has never been better. We wanted this to work Rochester, we really did. When we opened in March of 2022, who would have thought that we would have been able to make the impact we did? Broadway had to conform to the surge of love you showed us during our opening days. That was amazing!"

"We held pride in starting every employee off with at least a $16/hr wage to set a new industry standard. We took pride in our Jolly Rancher Slushees. We took pride in our music and we took pride in our unique, one of a kind spices. We failed but will never hang up our capes because there’s always more work to be done."

"One thing you can be assured from our group is that we will always stick up for small business and will always be the voice of the little guy. This is our city and we love you."

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner until September 1st.
