Rochester’s New Culinary Gem: North Stone Kitchen is Opening Soon!
The heart of Rochester, Minnesota, is looking a bit different thanks to a few new additions. One of those inlcudes a brand new restaurant that will be opening soon!
Lots of Changes in the Peace Plaza This Past Year in Rochester, Minnesota
The Peace Plaza in Rochester is one of my favorite places to explore. There is a mix of new and old as you walk from the Gonda Building at the Mayo Clinic to the Kahler Grand Hotel, which has been open for over 100 years.
One of my favorite selfie spots sits down in the Peace Plaza, too. I always smile a little bit bigger when I finally spot this giant, red sign. Once in awhile though, the "Downtown Rochester, MN" sign gets moved, so you may have to look around to find it, but when you do, take a selfie!

It is always amazing to me how many residents of Rochester have never gone down to the Subway level and explored the shops and spots to grab a bite to eat. Caribou Coffee, Saladworks, Carrol's Corn, and so many other options are sitting underground just waiting for people to stop in and shop.
Speaking of restaurants, it appears that a new one is going to be opening up soon in the Peace Plaza.

North Stone Kitchen Opening Soon in Downtown Rochester
If you were hoping to grab a drink or a bite to eat at Salute Wine Bar, unfortunately, you'll be waiting a bit for a table. This popular spot located inside the Marriott at 101 1st Ave SW is currently under construction as it prepares to give all of us a brand new experience!
Coming soon to the Peace Plaza is North Stone Kitchen! A lot of work is happening at this location right now but I was told that in mid-August, this new restaurant should be open to the public.

What Type of Food Will the New North Stone Kitchen Offer?
I happened to catch some of the Kahler team in person recently and asked them specifically about the food at the new North Stone Kitchen restaurant. I was told that anyone who loved the Marriott burger shouldn't worry, because that WAS going to be on the menu.
Also on the menu were cheese curds. But not your ordinary, every day cheese curds. I specifically asked if we were talking about Milwaukee Burger size, or should we lower those expectations a bit. All I heard was..."these curds are big".
I guess we will find out how big in mid-August!
According to the Kahler Grand Hotel Facebook page, the new restaurant will feature "seasonal dishes, inventive cocktails" and is the perfect atmosphere for a night out with friends, date nights, or a place to get a group of people together.
