The news came through their social media Monday: their downtown lease has expired, and they weren’t able to come to terms on a new agreement. Unlike some of the recent closures around town, though, this one isn’t entirely bad news.

ICYMI: Popular Discount Store in Rochester Announces Closing Plans

According to their post, they’re not leaving Rochester, they’re actively searching for a new home and plan to keep serving fans in the city.

That’s right, Popus Gourmet Popcorn’s downtown location on the corner of 1st Ave and 2nd Street will no longer be located there once March comes to an end.

For years, this family-owned business has been serving Rochester with over 50 handcrafted gourmet flavors, made fresh daily in small batches. From classic favorites to seasonal surprises, every bite shows their creativity and care, which is probably why they’ve earned raving reviews from both locals and visitors.
