Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News) - A single-vehicle crash this morning in Owatonna took the life of an infant.

The State Patrol says the deadly crash was reported about 7:40 AM on northbound I-35 on the north edge of Owatonna near the Cabela's Store exit. The preliminary report on the incident says snow and ice were present on the roadway when the driver of the pickup lost control and the vehicle rolled in the right ditch.

The driver was identified as 25-year-old Dominic Hosteller of Owatonna. The State Patrol says he was transported to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Owatonna with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

He had two passengers in the pickup. The State Patrol says a boy under the age of one suffered fatal injuries and died after being transported to the Owatonna Hospital. His name has not been released.

The second passenger was a four-year-old girl. She was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Her name has also not been released.

The crash report indicates all three occupants of the pickup were secured and alcohol was not involved.
