Rural Rochester Man Watches Thief Drive Off With His SUV

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Imagine waking up and seeing someone driving off with your vehicle. That’s what happened early Thursday to a rural Rochester man.

The man told Olmsted County deputies he heard his dog barking around 3:45 AM and when he went to check, saw his 2015 Ford Explorer driving away. The man also spotted another vehicle parked in a nearby cul-de-sac. Both vehicles drove off before he called 911.

It was determined the thief gained entry to the family’s attached garage through an unlocked door. The man had left his key in the vehicle.

The house is located in the 3400 block of Hidden Creek Rd NE, near Hadley Creek golf course.
