Section One Softball And Baseball

(KROC AM Sports) -- In section one Class 3A Northfield defeated John Marshall 10-9, then upset top seed Mayo 2-1 to advanced to the semi-final round game tomorrow night at Todd Park in Austin.

They will face Farmington, who defeated Century 8-1 after the Panthers had beaten Red Wing 10-1. Winona and Hastings play in the other semi-final game in the winners bracket.

Mayo and Century play tomorrow night in the losers bracket along with Lakeville South and Owatonna.

In section one Class 2A last night, Cotter beat St. Charles 5-4 and Caledonia/Spring Grove blanked P-E-M 12-0. Kasson-Mantorville defeated Byron 8-0 while Zumbrota-Mazeppa took care of Stewartville 4-1.

In section one Class A, Chatfield and Wabasha-Kellog each won and will face each other tomorrow afternoon and Hayfield and Blooming Prairie will play in the winners bracket tomorrow afternoon in Austin

For the boys, the Section One baseball tournaments get underway tonight for Class A, 2A and 3A.
