The State Patrol’s incident report says the sedan operated by 31-year-old Serah Barr and a Freightliner semi, driven by 21-year-old Simon Eqube of Fitchburg, MA, were traveling west on the freeway when they collided about 15 miles east of the Winona exit around 9:50 p.m. The semi lost control and crashed into the median as a result of the collision.

Barr was taken to a La Crosse hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. Eqube was not hurt.

The report indicates both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Tri-State Ambulance, Dakota Fire Department and Nodine Fire Department also responded to the crash.
