‘Serial Burglar’ From Rochester Headed to Prison
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man is headed to the St. Cloud State Prison for a burglary related conviction.
61-year-old Maurice Golston recently pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of burglary or theft tools and was given a sentence of 18 months in prison.
Golston, who has been described by authorities as a serial burglar, was arrested in August in Rochester for a residential break-in that happened earlier the same day in the Pepin, Wisconsin area. A safe taken from the home was found in his vehicle. The owner of the safe told authorities it contained rare coins worth between $5,000- $10,000.
Golston has a history of criminal offenses involving burglaries, mostly in rural homes, dating back to 1993. Back in 2014, he was given a 23 month prison sentence for a previous burglary conviction.
