Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Fire Department responded to a pole shed fire in northeast Rochester Tuesday morning.

RFD said crews responded to the report of a large pole shed on fire in the 3400 block of Hermann Court Northeast around 6:45 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters deployed multiple attack lines to fight the fire.

Because no hydrants are near the location of the fire, a water shuttle operation was established using tankers, including mutual aid tankers from Dover and Eyota fire departments. Crews remained on the scene until 11:00 a.m. attempting to extinguish hotspots.

Oronoco and Stewartville fire departments assisted with coverage in the city for a short time as multiple RFD crews responded to the shed fire.

One Rochester firefighter was assessed by Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service for exhaustion symptoms

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The amount of damage is still being estimated.
