A "shelter in place" warning was issued early Sunday for a portion of Byron.

Around 12:45 AM, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office asked Byron residents living near 9th Street Northwest between 1st and 2nd Avenues to secure all of their doors and windows and remain inside. Anyone headed to their home in that area was not allowed inside the perimeter and the public was asked to avoid the area while the Sheriff's Office, Rochester Police Officers, and State Troopers searched for a person.
