Zumbrota, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Zumbrota Police Department has released some information concerning an incident that prompted a "Shelter in Place" order for a portion of the city on Friday.

A news release says Zumbrota Police received a 911 call around 4 PM from a homeowner who had interrupted a burglar in the process of breaking into the person's home. The caller described the suspect as white, in his 20s, around 6 feet tall, wearing a black shirt and shorts with a dark-colored mask.

The man fled on foot and other witnesses told officers he had dark-colored hair and a large tattoo on his back. Zumbrota Police then created a perimeter and brought in a K9 to aid with the search.

A notice was also issued to residents of the search area, asking them to stay indoors with their doors locked while the search was taking place. The suspect was not located and Zumbrota Police are still actively looking for him. The news release notes no weapons were involved in the incident and the homeowner was not harmed.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, Goodhue County Sheriff's Office, Goodhue Police Department, and the State Patrol assisted in the investigation.
