
Authorities Detain Two Following Shooting & Standoff in Faribault
Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police in Faribault are reporting a shooting and subsequent standoff reached a peaceful conclusion on Saturday.

A SWAT Team responded to the scene. A news release issued by the Faribault Police Department said the incident began shortly after 10:40 Saturday morning.
It concluded nearly three hours later, authorities indicate.

Standoff Ensues After Gunshot in Faribault Apartment
Officers responded to the report of a weapons violation in the 10 block of Division Street West in Faribault.
After arriving, police found evidence that a gunshot had been fired and that the bullet had entered an adjacent apartment, the news release says.
Police attempted to make contact with the occupants of the apartment that was the source of the gunfire but were not successful. The news release indicates the apartment appeared to be occupied.
SWAT Team Called to Scene of Faribault Standoff That Followed Shooting
Faribault Police then called the South Metro SWAT Team to the scene.
Authorities sent out an alert to nearby homes and officers began drafting a search warrant to gain entry to the residence while a SWAT negotiator attempted to make contact.
Law enforcement reached the occupants by phone and two individuals were eventually detained without further incident around 1:30 p.m., the news release says.
No injuries were reported and the names of the people detained were not released.
Faribault police indicate more information about the incident will be disclosed on Tuesday.
