
Home in Mankato Hit With Multiple Bullets Day After Deadly Shooting
Officials are asking residents in the area to check their surveillance camera footage and report any suspicious activity.
Mankato, MN (MinnesotaNow)- Authorities in Mankato are investigating the city’s second shooting in as many days.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Mankato Department of Public Safety. The latest gunfire was reported shortly before 8:30 Monday evening.
Monday night’s shooting followed a shooting Sunday morning that left one dead and another arrested.

Authorities identified the fatal shooting victim as 27-year-old Muridi Hassan Hussein of Mankato. The suspected gunman, who is now in custody, was identified as 23-year-old A’Quan Kaishaid Laurence Thorton of Mankato.
The deadly shooting happened around 9:30 Sunday morning in the 400 block of Holly Ln.

The latest shooting occurred in the 500 block of North 4th St.
Responding officers found multiple bullet homes in a home that had people inside at the time of the gunfire, the Mankato Department of Public Safety says.
No injuries were reported. Authorities did not say how many people were inside of the home.
As of Tuesday morning, no arrests have been made. Officials are asking residents in the area to check their surveillance camera footage and report any suspicious activity.
