Six More Flu Deaths Reported in Minnesota
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The flu season in Minnesota remains in full swing.
The Minnesota Department of Health says overall flu activity is still rated as widespread and the weekly flu activity update shows 6 more flu-related deaths were reported to health officials during the week that ended January 31st. The total for the flu season now stands at 42.
Preliminary figures show the health department also received 182 reports of hospitalizations due to flu-related complications. That's down from the 231 reported the previous week but raised the season total to over 1650.
87 schools reported probable flu outbreaks and there were 9 confirmed outbreaks reported by nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
