Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Sloppy and potentially slippery conditions are possible in southeastern Minnesota overnight and into Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service says rain is expected to develop late tonight and become mixed with snow. The forecast then calls for snow, which could be mixed with rain, Tuesday morning before the weather system moves out of the region.

A Narrow Band of 1-4 Inches is Possible in Parts of SE Minnesota

In the Rochester area, the National Weather Service says there is the potential for 1–2 inches of snowfall, although much of it could melt as soon as it falls. Higher accumulations are possible in areas north of Rochester, with forecasters predicting a narrow band of 1–4 inches of accumulation in parts of Goodhue County and northern Wabasha County.

The National Weather Service has Issued a Winter Weather Advisory

A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for both counties, along with Rice County and several other southern Twin Cities counties. The advisory will be in effect through noon Tuesday.
