Statewide Alerts Issued for Two Missing Minnesotans (Update)
Grand Rapids, MN (KROC-AM News)- Update 5-26 6:50 a.m. The Minnesota BCA says 43-year-old John Elis and 68-year-old Debra Hagenbuck were both found safe.
Previous Version: The Minnesota BCA has issued separate missing person alerts for two people in northern Minnesota.
The first alert was issued shortly before 4:30 p.m. and the second came in shortly before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Both alerts involve residents of Itasca County.
The BCA says 43-year-old John Elis was last seen walking through a yard in Bovey, MN, which is about seven miles west of Grand Rapids. Officials say he was wearing a white T-shirt and light-colored pants.
He’s described as white, 6’2”, 220 pounds, brown hair and hazel eyes. His destination is unknown and he was reported missing on Sunday.

The BCA says 68-year-old Debra Hagenbuck was last seen on foot near Walmart in Grand Rapids around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. She’s described as white 5’10”, 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt and jean shorts.
Her destination is also unknown. The BCA is asking anyone with knowledge of Elis’s or Hagenbuck’s whereabouts to contact the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office or 911.
