The Rochester Civic Theatre's release came out Tuesday that Executive Director Gregory Stavrou was resigning from his position.

I knew, or at least was fairly certain this was going to happpen based on conversations we'd had off the record and off the air during his weekly visits on KROC AM.

It's really too bad. During his tenure, the theatre became a place to go and enjoy yourself whether it was the Women on Wednesdays, Americana Showcase, holiday concerts and the Friday's on the Patio along with jazz jams during the summer. Not just a place for stage productions.

He told us it wasn't a spur of the moment decision..

It'll be different without him at the Rochester Civic Theatre and one can only hope the new executive director will be as creative and passionate about the arts as he.
