Claremont, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorcycle crash in southeast Minnesota sent a Stewartville man to the hospital early Tuesday morning.

The State Patrol responded to the collision around 4:45 a.m. It happened along Hwy. 14 near Claremont.

The state crash report says the motorcycle, operated by 35-year-old Blake Benjamin Hatlestad, was traveling in one of the westbound lanes of the four-lane highway when it struck a deer. Hatlestad was then taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The report says Hatlestad was wearing a helmet and that alcohol was not involved in the collision. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Dodge Center Fire Department, Dodge Center EMS and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the motorcycle-deer crash.
