Eagan, MN (Learfield News Service) - Minnesota-based Sun Country Airlines is apologizing to a mom it charged $75 so she could sit with her toddler son on a flight.

The woman booked seats from Rhode Island to San Diego through a third-party website and when she boarded the plane with her little boy she discovered they weren't seated next to each other. A Sun Country employee told her she could pay $75 and sit next to her son. She said she couldn't afford it and a grandmother on the flight let the woman have her seat so she could sit with her son. In its apology, Sun Country said airline policy is to seat children with an adult at no cost.
