
Suspect in Zumbrota Motorcycle Pursuit Hospitalized After Crashing
Zumbrota, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorcyclist suspected of leading Zumbrota Police on a pursuit was hospitalized after crashing Sunday night.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Zumbrota Police Department. It happened along Hwy. 52 around 11:20 p.m.
Police say a sergeant pulled over a motorcycle with no tail lights for an equipment violation near the Hwy. 52/Hwy. 60 interchange. The motorcyclist initially stopped for the officer then accelerated southbound away from the traffic stop, the news release says.
The officer then chased after the motorcycle on southbound Hwy. 52 until it crashed after exiting the freeway at Olmsted County Rd. 12 West/Olmsted County Rd. 112 interchange in Oronoco, which is about 13 miles south of the initial traffic stop, officials say.
The driver, whose identity was not disclosed in the news release, was identified and released to the Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service. The motorcycle operator was then transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for further care.
An update on their current condition is not available. It’s also unknown if the suspect was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The news release does not include information regarding potential charges for the motorcyclist.
The Zumbrota Police Department says no other agencies were directly involved in the pursuit, however officials thanked the Minnesota State Patrol, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office for assisting with the incident.
