Minneapolis Police say officers responded to a shooting at a residence on the city’s north side shortly after midnight. Upon arrival officers found a woman suffering from an apparent life-threatening gunshot wound.

The woman, described to be in her late 20’s or early 30’s, was transported from the scene to Hennepin County Medical Center where she died from her wound. Police say the preliminary investigation indicates the victim was shot while standing outside of the residence.

It’s unclear as of Wednesday morning if one person or multiple people were involved in the deadly shooting. The woman’s body has been sent to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine her identity and cause of death.

No arrests have been made and police are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward.
